June 13, 2013 – Consonus Music Institute’s lead instructor, Michael Christiansen, a master teacher, one of the world’s foremost experts in classroom guitar pedagogy, and gifted musician, recently presented professional development workshops to music educators in the Salt Lake, Nebo, and Granite, Utah school districts.
His presentation showed how, by combining time-tested classroom instruction and interactive, distance-learning technology, CMI has developed an exciting, engaging, hands-on approach to teaching and learning music, employing a contemporary repertoire that inspires teachers and students to learn through examples, practice, and feedback.
Using CMI’s customizable differentiated education feature, Christiansen taught the teachers how to achieve consistent results with students at varying skill levels and how produce successful learning outcomes, even though they themselves might not be proficient on the instrument they are teaching.
Other workshops are planned throughout the summer. If you want your school or district to have the opportunity to learn about CMI’s totally new approach to music education, contact us.
